Stevenson is American and has Mexican-American heritage. From the time she was little, she's been very keen on playing sports. Gerina played golf when she was just the age of fifteen. Gerina went to Goddard High School. In high school, she had won in the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. Also, she played volleyball at the national level. The first time she attended the University of Texas. In the final period of her career she had won every tournament where she played.
